About

In 2004, the J.E.B. Stuart Educational Foundation Inc. (Foundation) was established to help J.E.B. Stuart High School (Stuart) graduates unable to afford post-secondary education without financial assistance.

Since then, the Foundation has awarded more than $480,000 in scholarships to 200 Stuart graduates who have been accepted to and now attend schools including Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Virginia. These students are pursuing careers including:

  • architecture
  • business
  • computer science
  • criminal justice
  • education
  • engineering
  • graphic design
  • liberal arts
  • nursing
  • performing arts

Schools attended by our scholarship recipients.

JEB Stuart High School’s Class of 2011 – the most recent class to benefit from Foundation awards – received $78,500 in total in 2011.

*** This year, thanks to your generous contributions, we hope to award even more scholarship money to the Class of 2012! ***

How will my contributions be used? More than 93% of all contributions raised go toward need-based scholarships. These scholarships are paid directly to the awardees’ colleges. Your donations help shape the futures of Stuart High School graduates who would otherwise be unable pursue their education and career goals.

Organization: The J.E.B. Stuart Educational Foundation (Foundation) was incorporated in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by committed members of the Stuart community. An all-volunteer corps including PTSA members, teachers, community and business leaders keep the organization running to ensure that hard-working students have the opportunity to progress beyond a high school diploma.

Prior to the Foundation’s incorporation, the J.E.B. Stuart High School PTSA had sponsored primarily need-based scholarships for more than 20 years.
